Based on statistical data, in-depth interviews, survey of Georgia’s population, focus group discussions and photovoice methodology the study  assesses  gender issues in public and private spheres and  provides  recommendations for achieving gender justice. “Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Georgia. (2006). Drawing, based on existing information sources and expert interviews , a picture of domestic violence situation in the country, focusing  on violence against women. Availability of information, efficiency of legislation, existence of institutional and monitoring mechanisms were assessed and a set of recommendations for the UN agencies regarding the potential spheres of intervention were formulated. Funded by the UN Country Team and implemented together with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights.
